Anki Vector smart robot, white

Anki Vector smart robot, white.

Anki Vector Robot.

Vector plays many roles, not just that of a toy for kids. For example, you can use it as a companion with a voice assistant, so you can do things like set reminders, ask for the weather forecast or get answers to trivia questions, and much more. The robot also has a camera at the front, which it uses to scan its surroundings so it can act accordingly. If you are nearby, you can ask Vector to come closer to you, and it will do so by listening to your voice with an array of four microphones and tracking your location with the front camera.

Aware and reactive Vector.

You can also play simple games with the robot, something like a card game, in which it displays artifacts on the small display at the front, which otherwise shows Vector's animated face. The bot contains infrared sensors that help detect the edge of a tabletop to avoid tipping over and falling. Using its sensors and laser scanners, the bot essentially builds a digital representation of the environment it is in, using a technology called SLAM, which stands for simultaneous localization and mapping.

Smart and getting smarter.

Vector uses a neural network to constantly learn about its surroundings and improve its visual intelligence through updates. For example, Vector can detect the presence of people even if their faces are not visible. If it detects a human torso, it automatically raises its head to find the head, because it knows what a human looks like.

Always happy to help.

The main goal Anki is trying to achieve with Vector is understanding stimulation in the environment. For example, Anki wants the bot to be able to detect human posture or behavior, assess the situation and react appropriately. If you are happy, Vector should act cheerful and upbeat, and if you are sad and gloomy, Vector will try to cheer you up and start a conversation with you.
