The Xtar VP4 is a professional processor-controlled charger, excellent for charging 1-4 Li-ion batteries, including the popular 18650 cells and other sizes.

The professional processor-controlled Xtar VP4 charger offers a three-stage TC CC CV charging process. It is compatible with various Li-ion batteries with a voltage of 3.6-3.7V, including 10440, 14500, 16340, 18650, 26650 and others. Larger batteries, e.g. 22650 and 32650, can be charged in only two channels. The charging current can be adjusted for all channels using the button above the display. When charging 1-2 batteries in the outer channels, the maximum current is 1A, and for 3-4 batteries or when using the middle channels - 0.5A.

The LCD display on the Xtar VP4 charger shows the current and charging progress, as well as the current voltage of the batteries.

The TC CC CV charging process is an effective way of looking after Li-ion cells. The stages of this process are:

- TC phase: batteries discharged below 2.9V are charged with a lower current.
- CC phase: after reaching 2.9V the batteries are charged with constant current and voltage (0.25A by default).
- CV phase: once nearly fully charged, the current decreases until the appropriate battery voltage is reached, ending the charging process.

Charged batteries left in the charger undergo natural self-discharge. Charging will resume when the voltage drops below 3.9V.

The Xtar VP4 charger has a function for reactivating deeply discharged cells at 0V, which is its distinctive advantage. Many other chargers cannot handle such batteries. The Xtar VP4 can help reactivate discharged cells, however batteries that are too deeply discharged may be permanently damaged.

While charging batteries, other chargers may generate too high a temperature, which shortens the life of the cells. Thanks to its external power supply, the Xtar VP4 charger minimizes the rise in battery temperature during charging, ensuring longer battery life.
