Biscottini hanging vintage-style cast iron charcoal iron – retro

Biscottini hanging vintage-style charcoal iron

This is a decorative replica of an old charcoal iron that for decades was used in homes for pressing linens and clothes. The characteristic heavy body of solid cast iron and the wooden handle have been recreated, so the piece resembles the old irons known from grandmothers' kitchens, laundries, and tailors' workshops. The craftsmanship evokes the atmosphere of old household technology and fits well into a collection of technical antiques.

Use

The iron comes with a hook, so it can be hung on the wall as decoration for a kitchen, hallway, studio, cafe, or retro-style shop. It works equally well as a paperweight, bookend, or door stop, since it has solid weight and stands stably. The item is a decoration, not working equipment, so it is not suitable for ironing.
