Crucial T500 2TB – M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD (CT2000T500SSD8)

Crucial T500 2TB – M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD

The Crucial T500 is a fast PCIe 4.0 SSD with DRAM cache that squeezes almost everything possible out of a Gen4 slot. It is a sensible choice when the motherboard has no Gen5 slot and high performance matters even during long copy operations. The 2 TB capacity holds the system, a large game library and current projects without constantly moving files. The manufacturer's part number is CT2000T500SSD8.

Speed

According to the manufacturer, the 2 TB version reaches up to 7,400 MB/s sequential read and up to 7,000 MB/s sequential write.

Computer, laptop and PS5

The M.2 2280 form factor fits most motherboards and many laptops with an NVMe slot. The T500 is also suitable as a storage expansion in the PS5 – in that case a PS5-compatible heatsink must be added in the console.

Installation and cooling

Version without a heatsink. In a desktop computer it is worth installing it under the motherboard's M.2 heatsink; in a laptop the factory cooling is usually enough.
