Decoupage decors

Decoupage decors

Decors are elements for decorating objects with the decoupage technique – boxes, trays, flowerpots, furniture, baubles or frames. In this category you will find decorative appliques made of composition, wood and plywood, ornaments, corners and frames, ready-made motifs to glue on, as well as three-dimensional elements that give works a relief effect.

When choosing decors, pay attention to the material and size of the elements in relation to the object you want to decorate. Wooden and plywood elements can be painted with acrylic paints, stained and aged, and flexible decors are easy to fit to rounded surfaces. Decoupage glues or construction adhesives will come in handy for attaching.

Decors combine well with rice papers, napkins and texture pastes, letting you create coherent compositions in a chosen style. Before decorating, it is worth sanding and priming the surface of the object, and securing the finished work with varnish so that the decors hold well.
