Der Herr der Ringe J.R.R. Tolkien audio CD

"Der Herr der Ringe" J.R.R. Tolkien audio CD

Creating a radio play based on J.R.R. Tolkien's monumental work "The Lord of the Rings" is practically next to impossible. Nevertheless, a team from SWF and WDR took on this challenge in the early 1990s and produced 30 episodes with a total running time of about 750 minutes. They transport the listener into the amazing adventures of Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn and other legendary characters of Middle-earth, in an extremely vivid and atmospheric way. It is an intricate production that cost 750,000 marks, using not only expressive dialogue but also impressive special effects and fabulous background music. While listening to this audiobook you will be transported to a world of hobbits, elves, men and dwarves fighting the mighty Sauron, without any breaks, traveling to legendary places such as Rivendell, Isengard or Minas Tirith. It is the perfect entertainment for long winter evenings. - Michael Rensen.
