Outer and inner CV joints

CV joints transfer torque from the gearbox to the wheels, allowing them to steer and move on the suspension at the same time. In this category you will find outer and inner joints, repair kits with boots, clamps and grease, and the joint boots alone.

A typical symptom of a worn outer joint is a characteristic knocking when pulling away with the wheels turned, and of an inner joint - vibration when accelerating. A common cause of failure is a split boot, through which grease escapes and water and sand get inside.

The joint is selected for the specific model, engine version and gearbox, paying attention to the number of splines, the diameter and the presence of an ABS ring. The surest way is to search for the part by catalog number or VIN. Regularly checking the condition of the boots helps avoid costly repairs. When replacing a joint, it is worth fitting a new boot and fresh grease supplied in the repair kit right away.
