Books for learning French

In this category you will find books and textbooks for learning French: courses for beginners and intermediate learners, grammars, dictionaries, exercise collections, phrasebooks, preparation for the DELF and DALF exams, and simplified readers in French.

Before buying, determine your level on a scale from A1 to C2 and your learning goal, for example a trip, studies, work or a school exam. Materials with audio recordings make it easier to master pronunciation, which in French can be a challenge for beginners, and an answer key lets you check progress.

Phrasebooks will be useful when traveling, and readers adapted to the level help broaden vocabulary and get used to the language in a natural context. For children it is worth suggesting books with illustrations and songs, which turn learning into play. It is also worth using flashcards and exercises for independent vocabulary learning, which can be repeated in short breaks during the day.
