GRDplanten basalt chippings 8-16 mm, 20 kg bag

GRDplanten basalt chippings 8-16 mm - 20 kg bag

Basalt chippings in the 8-16 mm fraction are a natural decorative aggregate that works well for finishing garden paths, flower beds, and garden planters and containers. The gray, stone-like shade of the chippings gives the garden a tidy, modern character and blends well with both plants and other hard surface elements.

Use in the garden

The chippings can be used as the top layer of a garden path, as a border around flower beds or as a decorative filling for planters and containers on the terrace. A stone surface drains water well and does not hold moisture on the surface the way a lawn, for example, does, which makes it a practical solution in places with heavy foot traffic or more difficult ground conditions.

Weed control

A layer of basalt chippings spread over the soil effectively limits weed growth by blocking light from reaching the seeds in the ground. For this reason chippings are often used as a natural alternative to a traditional lawn in places that are hard to mow, or as a decorative element around shrubs and trees.

The material is durable and weather-resistant - it does not lose its properties in rain, frost or intense sunlight, so once spread, a layer of chippings can serve in the garden for many seasons without needing to be replaced.
