ICY BOX IB-5251 – 5.25 inch mounting frame for 2 x 2.5 inch drives

ICY BOX IB-5251 – mounting frame for 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives

The IB-5251 is a plastic mounting frame that lets you install several drives in one 5.25 inch bay of a computer case, that is, where a DVD drive usually sits. It is a simple solution when there is no room for additional storage.

How many drives fit

In the upper part of the frame you can place two 2.5 inch drives, HDD or SSD with a height of 7 to 9.5 mm, with tool-free mounting. On the underside there is room for one 3.5 inch drive. Instead of a drive, you can also install a 3.5 inch format device there, for example a card reader.

Installation and operation

The frame is screwed to the case with self-tapping screws. Anti-vibration hard drive bearings limit the transmission of vibrations, so the set runs more quietly. The whole unit is black and measures approximately 17.5 x 14.7 x 4 cm.
