JBL Stage3 6427 – 4x6 inch oval speakers

The JBL Stage3 6427 is a pair of two-way coaxial speakers in the oval 4x6 inch (10 x 15 cm) size, used as factory equipment in the doors and dashboards of many cars, especially older models.

Construction

Sound

The 35 W RMS and 175 W peak power with 91 dB sensitivity allows cleaner and louder sound than factory speakers, even when powered by a car stereo.

Installation tips

Before buying, it is worth measuring the diameter of the opening and the mounting depth in the door or on the shelf, and checking whether the car requires a mounting adapter. When connecting, keep the plus and minus wire polarity consistent so the bass is not cancelled out. The best results come from additionally damping the door with a sound-deadening mat.
