Jopto JY-PHT-016 – white balance and exposure calibration card set

The set consists of three pocket reference cards: neutral 18% gray, white and black. It is a basic tool for a photographer or filmmaker who wants to set the correct white balance and exposure before starting to shoot. The cards measure about 8.55 x 5.4 cm, so they easily fit in a pocket or equipment bag.

How it works

You frame the 18% gray card in the light you are working in and set a custom white balance on it in the camera, or correct the color in post-production. This way neutral colors stay neutral even under mixed lighting, for example fluorescent lights and daylight. The gray card is also useful for exposure metering, while the white and black cards help set reference points for the bright and dark parts of the frame.

Workmanship

• rigid plastic that does not bend or crumple like paper
• one side matte, the other smooth, which limits unwanted light reflections
• included lanyard with a quick-release clip
