Keith Jarrett – The Köln Concert, CD, jazz

Keith Jarrett – The Köln Concert

The Köln Concert is a recording of Keith Jarrett's solo piano recital, recorded at the opera house in Cologne in January 1975. The album released by ECM became one of the best-selling jazz records in history and the best-selling solo piano recording.

About the release

The whole concert was improvised. Jarrett built the music on the fly, moving from lyrical, songlike melodies to hypnotic, repetitive figures and expressive climaxes. The famous story of how the recording came about, played on an imperfect instrument, only adds to its legend.

Who it is for

This is a must-have classic for lovers of jazz, piano music and improvisation, and also a great record for a quiet evening.

Physical release

A physical release with the original cover and printed materials is a keepsake that streaming cannot replace, and a guarantee that your favorite recordings will stay in your home collection for years. The disc is best stored in its case, away from sunlight and heat sources, and before buying make sure your player supports the given format.
