Cutting rebar without a cable and without sparks

The DSC191Z is a hydraulic cutter for steel reinforcing bars powered by a Makita 18 V LXT battery. The bar is placed between two blades and the mechanism cuts it in one motion – without a disc, sparks or the dust produced by an angle grinder. This makes the machine well suited for work on slabs and foundations, where the reinforcement is already laid and there is no socket nearby.

Design

• powered by Makita 18 V LXT batteries, so batteries from other tools of this series fit,
• pistol grip and trigger like on a drill, comfortable for cutting in a bent-over position,
• adjustable stop that places the bar in a repeatable position,
• alloy steel blades, right-angle cutting,
• maximum diameter of the bar cut approx. 19 mm.

The cutter is intended for rebar fixers, crews building slabs and foundations, and prefabrication companies. It replaces heavy manual shears and lets you cut bars directly at the installation site.
