Märklin 81874 – Z scale train starter set with BR 24 steam locomotive

Märklin 81874 – museum passenger train in Z scale

The Märklin 81874 starter set is a complete model railway in Z scale, one of the smallest modeling scales in which serial electric trains are produced. The Z track gauge lets you build an extensive layout even on a table or in a small display case. The set is intended for adults and older teenagers who want to start their adventure with a miniature railway.

What the set can do

The main element is a BR 24 steam locomotive with a metal body about 24 cm long, together with a plastic tender. The wheels are black nickel-plated, and the whole is driven by a motor with a bell. The train is controlled by hand using a device with a knob and five function buttons, and power is provided by the included switching power supply.

Included

• BR 24 steam locomotive with tender,
• 2 passenger cars and a baggage car,
• straight and curved tracks forming a ready oval,
• control device and power supply.
