Miniature wargames

Miniature wargames

Wargames are strategy games played on a table using miniatures, terrain scenery, dice and measuring tools. In this category you will find starter sets, miniatures and armies, rulebooks, terrain elements and accessories for fantasy, science fiction and historical systems.

For beginner players it is easiest to start with a starter set, which contains miniatures of both sides of the conflict, abridged rules and the necessary accessories. Miniatures often require assembling and painting yourself, so modeling paints, brushes, glues and hobby knives will come in handy.

When choosing, pay attention to the game system and the scale of the miniatures, because elements from different systems are not always compatible with each other. It is worth checking whether a community of players of the given system is active nearby or online, which makes it easier to find opponents and grow an army. Wargames are also a modeling hobby, in which preparing and painting your own army gives as much satisfaction as the game at the table itself.
