noDNA – build-it-yourself spider robot

The noDNA spider robot is an educational kit to assemble yourself, intended for children aged 8 and up. The toy combines learning the basics of robotics with tinkering – assembly requires no soldering, and the whole process is described step by step in the included instructions.

Realistic movement

The assembled robot imitates the movements of a real spider thanks to eight legs, and the stride length and speed of movement can be adjusted in two settings. Rubber feet let the robot climb even on slightly sloping ground, which encourages children to build their own obstacle courses.

Learning through play

The kit develops four STEM competencies: mathematics, computer science, natural science and engineering, and along the way it practises manual skills and teaches following instructions step by step. It is a good proposal for children interested in technology and tinkering.

Power

The robot is powered by one AA battery (not included in the set), which makes it quick to start up after assembly is finished.
