Retrogame 1.8 m composite RCA AV cable for PlayStation 1 (PSX), PS2

Retrogame composite AV cable for PlayStation 1 (PSX)

This is a classic composite RCA video and audio cable that connects a Sony PlayStation 1 (PSX, PS One) console to a TV or monitor with RCA inputs. The cable plugs into the MULTI OUT connector on the back of the console and is also compatible with the PlayStation 2 and PS3. The 180 cm length is enough to comfortably place the console some distance from the screen.

What the PSX cabling is for

The cable transmits picture and stereo sound from the console to the receiver. It is the basic PSX cabling for people returning to games from the nineties on original hardware or who need a spare cable for a retro console. Thanks to its simple construction, it needs no power or drivers. It also works as a spare composite AV cable for the PS2.

Important information

• The cable is not compatible with an HDMI output; you need an RCA input or a suitable converter.
• For the PS3, the video settings must be reset to factory defaults.
• Black color, one piece in the package.

Why keep a spare cable

Cables for old consoles can become frayed after years and plugs loose, which shows up as picture interference or no sound in one channel. A new composite cable is the simplest way to restore a clean signal without replacing the whole setup. The yellow, white and red RCA plugs make it easy to match them to the sockets on the TV.
