Rybozen VHS/Hi8/SCART video grabber to USB - recorder for digitizing

Rybozen - video capture card and VHS to USB grabber

The Rybozen video recorder is a small device that lets you transfer analog recordings from VHS, Hi8, mini DV tapes, camcorders or DVD players to a digital computer medium. With this grabber you can create your own digital library of family films in high quality, instead of keeping them on forgotten tapes.

How it works

The device connects to the analog source via SCART, RCA, CVBS or S-Video connectors and to the computer via USB 2.0. The driver installs automatically, so the recorder works plug and play, with no complicated setup. For capturing and saving video, the manufacturer recommends free programs such as OBS Studio or PotPlayer on Windows, and the QuickTime Player app on Mac computers.

Supported formats and systems

The grabber supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AVI, WMV, DVD, ISO and AVC H.264 encoding, as well as PAL, NTSC and SECAM video standards. It works with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and 11 in 32- and 64-bit versions, and with Mac OS from version 10.5.8 onward.

Use

This is a practical solution for digitizing a home video archive, recordings from a surveillance camera or a satellite TV receiver. The compact, reinforced housing makes it easy to store and move the device between computers.
