When choosing, pay attention to the protection class marking in line with EN ISO 20345 (safety footwear, e.g. SB, S1) or EN ISO 20347 (occupational footwear). Important features are: a protective toe cap, an oil-resistant and slip-resistant sole (e.g. SRC), antistatic properties and strap adjustment.

Work sandals give better foot ventilation than full shoes, but are not permitted in every workplace. Before buying, check your employer's requirements and the risk assessment for the given workstation. A proper size fit is just as important as protection – a sandal that is too loose may cause tripping on a slippery floor.
