Spinning reels

Spinning reels

This category includes fixed-spool spinning reels with a front drag, intended for catching predatory fish on artificial lures. You will find light reels for ultralight spinning for perch and trout, versatile models in sizes 2000-3000, and stronger reels for pike, zander and catfish.

Choose the size of the reel to match the rod and the expected fish. The setup should be well balanced, and the spool capacity sufficient for the planned line or braid. The front drag is precise and easy to adjust, which matters when playing a large fish.

Pay attention to the number of bearings and the smoothness of operation, the gear ratio - a faster one makes it easier to retrieve lures near the surface, a slower one gives more power - and also the material of the body and spool. A spare spool lets you change the line quickly. After fishing, especially in salt water, rinse the reel and lubricate it from time to time.
