The TL-SG105 switch uses technology that allows you to use a high-bandwidth network with great energy savings. The device automatically adjusts the required power consumption depending on the link status and cable length, limiting energy use.
Traditional network switches draw a significant amount of power for ports even if the devices connected to them are switched off. The TL-SG105 switch automatically detects the link status of each port, reducing the power consumption of inactive ports.

Power consumption dependent on cable length.
In theory, using shorter cables should reduce energy consumption, because of lower energy loss along their length. However, most devices use the same amount of energy regardless of cable length. The TL-SG105 switch analyzes the length of the cables connected to it and adjusts the amount of energy used by the ports accordingly.
The switch's automatic functions make its installation trouble-free and require no configuration. Thanks to the MDI MDIX function, there is no need to use crossover cables. The auto-negotiation function automatically detects the speed of the devices connected to each port (10, 100 or 1000Mb s), ensuring optimal transmission performance.
