XMSJSIY DisplayPort to VGA cable 1.8 m – monitor adapter

XMSJSIY DisplayPort to VGA cable – 1.8 m

The XMSJSIY adapter connects a computer or laptop with a DisplayPort connector to an older monitor, projector or TV that has only a VGA input. This lets you connect new equipment to an existing display without having to replace the monitor.

How it works

The cable carries the signal in one direction – from the DisplayPort plug to the VGA socket. A built-in converter chip changes the digital signal to analog, giving a picture at up to 1080p at 60 Hz. The solution works for connecting a second monitor, a projector at a company meeting or an older screen in a home office.

Build

The DisplayPort plug has a locking latch that prevents the cable from being unplugged accidentally. The connectors are gold-plated and the conductors are made of tinned copper, which limits signal loss and protects the contacts from corrosion. The plug housing is made of heat-resistant ABS plastic.

Uses

• Connecting a laptop or desktop computer with DisplayPort to a VGA monitor
• Presentations on a projector without a digital input
• Extending or duplicating the desktop on an additional screen
