AMD Tools cylinder head gasket leak tester CO2 (coolant leak test)

AMD Tools cylinder head gasket leak tester CO2

What it is for

The AMD Tools leak tester lets you check on your own whether the head gasket or the head of a liquid-cooled engine is damaged, without a visit to a workshop. The device detects exhaust gases (CO2) in the coolant, which is a typical symptom of a blown gasket between the combustion chamber and the cooling system.

How it works

The test involves passing air from above the coolant in the cooling system through a special reaction fluid placed in the tester's measuring chamber. If CO2 from exhaust gases is present in the coolant, the reaction fluid changes color from blue to yellow, which clearly indicates a leaking head gasket. The whole test usually takes no more than 5 minutes and gives a result close to the reliability of professional testers, which are much more expensive than this kit.

Use

A universal adapter with a 25-55 mm range lets you use the tester on cars and trucks, motorcycles, tractors, excavators and forklifts, regardless of the fuel type - gasoline, diesel or LPG. Only 2 ml of reaction fluid is needed for one test, so the kit with a 100 ml vial is enough for repeated tests on various vehicles, making it a practical tool for workshops as well as home users.
