Sennheiser HD 599 – open-back over-ear wired headphones, ivory

Sennheiser HD 599 – audiophile over-ear headphones

The Sennheiser HD 599 are wired over-ear headphones with an open-back design, in ivory color, intended mainly for listening to music at home. The open housing gives a natural, spacious sound, at the cost of some isolation from ambient noise.

Sound

A wide frequency response from 12 Hz to 38,500 Hz and an impedance of 50 Ω allow faithful sound reproduction, with clear highs and natural-sounding vocals. A sensitivity of 106 dB means the headphones sound good even from weaker sources such as a phone or laptop.

Comfort

The padded headband and soft ear cushions covered in a leather-like material provide comfort during longer listening sessions. The circumaural (over-the-ear) design distributes pressure on the head well.

Cables and accessories

Two cables are included: a shorter 1.2 m cable with a 3.5 mm jack plug and a longer 3 m cable with a 6.3 mm jack plug, as well as a 6.3 mm to 3.5 mm adapter, so the headphones can be connected to both a phone and stationary or studio equipment.
