The TES1-12704 Peltier module is a thermoelectric ceramic element that, when connected to power, creates a temperature difference between the two sides of the plate. It is used in projects for cooling computer components, mini-fridges, thermoregulation systems, and in hobby and DIY electronics.

Operating parameters

The module is powered with 12 V DC at a current of up to 4 A, which gives a rated power of 36 W. The thermal operating range covers temperatures from -55°C to 83°C. When connected to a voltage of about 5.78 V, the temperature difference between the sides of the module can reach about 65°C.

Construction

The plate is made of ceramic, measures 30 x 30 x 3.5 mm and is fitted with wires about 30 cm long that make it easier to connect to a power source. The compact dimensions allow installation in small enclosures and in projects with limited space.

Important operating information

The manufacturer notes that the module should not be connected to power for longer than a few seconds without a heat sink mounted on the hot side - lack of heat dissipation can lead to overheating and damage to the cell. Proper use requires a suitable heat sink or fan on the hot side.
