A set of 50 large-flowered, mixed crocus bulbs is a simple way to bring one of the first accents of color after winter into the garden in spring. The mix includes varieties in shades of purple, white and golden yellow, so each flower looks slightly different and the whole creates a naturalistic, varied color effect.

Planting and flowering time

The bulbs should be planted in autumn, from September to November, to a depth of about 10 cm, in well-drained soil and in a sunny or lightly shaded spot. Crocuses bloom from February to April, as one of the first bulb plants of the season, reaching a height of about 8-15 cm.

Use in the garden

The bulbs work well for flower bed borders, rock gardens, patio containers and naturalistic plantings in lawns. Crocuses look most impressive when planted in groups rather than in single, regular rows, which gives the effect of a natural flower meadow.

Care

After planting, the bulbs should be watered generously. In winter it is worth avoiding places where water stays in the soil for a long time, because excess moisture can adversely affect bulbs resting in the ground.
