Ficus carica Hardy fig tree 70-100 cm, for the garden

Ficus carica Ronde de Bordeaux - fig tree for the garden

The Ronde de Bordeaux variety is a frost-hardy, true fig (Ficus carica) that copes well in the Central European climate, bringing a Mediterranean character to the garden and the chance to harvest sweet, aromatic fruit. The plant is supplied at a height of 70-100 cm, which allows relatively quick visual results already in the first season after planting.

Hardiness and requirements

The tree is characterized by good resistance to low temperatures compared with standard fig varieties, so it can survive the winter in many regions of Poland, especially in places sheltered from the wind. The plant is easy to care for and has modest requirements, which makes it a good choice for both beginners and experienced gardeners.

Fruiting

Ficus carica Ronde de Bordeaux bears sweet, intensely flavored fruit that can be eaten fresh or used for homemade preserves such as jams or dried figs. The plant is characterized by fast growth and early fruiting compared with many other fruit tree varieties.

Use

The fig tree works well planted directly in the garden soil as well as in a large pot on a balcony or terrace, allowing flexible adaptation to the available space.
