JBL 708P - 8-inch dual-amplifier reference studio monitor

JBL 708P - 8-inch reference studio monitor

The JBL 708P is a self-powered, dual-amplifier reference monitor designed for critical listening when recording music, editing sound for film and in broadcast production. It uses new-generation JBL drivers and the patented Image Control waveguide, delivering a wide soundstage and high precision even in acoustically unfavourable rooms.

Construction and sound

The compact, self-amplified enclosure houses an 8-inch low-mid driver and an internal digital signal processor (DSP) working in a floating-point architecture. As a result the monitor offers more headroom and dynamics than designs of similar size, while keeping a consistent sound regardless of the room.

Control and correction

The built-in DSP enables extensive room acoustics correction and precise delay adjustment, which makes it easier to match a pair of monitors to a particular studio. The control panel allows quick switching between stored settings.

Connections

The 708P is fitted with a balanced analogue XLR input and an AES3 (XLR) digital input with a daisy-chain pass-through output, which lets you connect several monitors in one digital chain.

Specifications

This JBL studio monitor is an 8-inch reference monitor in a dual-amplifier version (dual-amplifier monitor) - a monitor for recording music with a built-in processor - DSP room correction is standard here.
