Madcat Black Allround 2.85 m 100-250 g – catfish rod

Madcat Black Allround – catfish rod

The Madcat Black Allround rod is equipment made for anglers who specialize in catfishing - a fish that demands strong, durable gear and plenty of reserve power when playing it. The 2.85 meter model with a casting weight range of 100 to 250 grams is suited to stationary fishing from the bank or from a boat.

Construction

The blank is made of 24T carbon, which combines sensitivity enough to feel even a subtle catfish bite with plenty of reserve power needed to land a large fish. The rod has a two-piece construction and a transport length of about 147 cm, which makes the gear easier to carry and store between trips. The fighting handle is made of EVA with a non-slip heat-shrink tube, providing a secure grip during a dynamic fight, and the comfortable EVA butt cap at the end of the handle makes it easier to rest the rod during a long wait for a bite.

Action

The rod power is rated as medium and the action as medium to fast, which together with a casting weight of up to 250 grams allows fishing with heavy bottom rigs typical of stationary catfishing. The rod works well both for classic bank fishing and for sessions from a boat.

Who it is for

This is an option for anglers looking for proven, well-regarded specialist equipment from the Madcat brand (part of DAM), intended strictly for stationary catfishing.
