An electromagnetic start relay is the part that switches on the starting winding of a compressor motor in a refrigerator or freezer. This set contains two relays intended for 1/3 HP compressors with 220 V supply.

Construction and parameters

Use

The compressor start relay is used as a spare part when repairing refrigerators and freezers, when the compressor does not start or switches off often. Before buying, check the compressor power: the 220 V version is for 1/3 HP compressors, while on 110 V mains the equivalent for 1/5 HP compressors is used. Installation consists of replacing the old relay on the compressor and requires no special tools, but do the work on the appliance only after disconnecting it from power.
