SN74HC595N – shift registers, 10 pieces

A set of ten SN74HC595N digital integrated circuits in a DIP-16 package. The shift register converts a serial input signal into eight parallel outputs, so a microcontroller can drive eight LEDs, relays or display segments using just three pins.

Key features

• 8-bit serial input and parallel outputs with three states,
• a serial output linking successive chips, which lets you expand the number of outputs to 16, 24 and more,
• operating voltage range from 2 to 6 V, compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V logic,
• integrated latch register with a separate clock – all outputs change at the same time, without flicker.

Use

Digital integrated circuits of this type work well with 7-segment displays, LED matrices, relay modules and any project where microcontroller pins are in short supply.

Ten pieces in the package are enough for several larger projects or as a stock for a workshop.

The DIP-16 chips fit standard sockets and prototyping boards, so they do not require SMD soldering. With 5 V and 3.3 V power they are easy to connect to Arduino-type boards, ESP and Raspberry Pi.
