Leonard Cohen The Future – vinyl LP, sung poetry

Leonard Cohen – The Future, vinyl LP

The Future is the ninth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter and poet Leonard Cohen, released in 1992. It is one of the most important works in the sung poetry tradition, available here as a vinyl record in the 12-inch format. The artist is Leonard Cohen, and the album title is The Future.

The album combines low, calm vocals with mature lyrics that refer to political events and the history of the 20th century. This sung poetry is built on the text, and the dark ballads and sparse arrangements mean the release is often named among the artist's most interesting achievements of the 1990s. Musically the record falls within the folk rock style with elements of synth-pop and gospel.

The vinyl LP album is a proposition for collectors and lovers of analog sound who want to have a genre classic at home in the full, large format with a cover sleeve. The edition is a single disc, and its publisher is Sony Music.
