Samsung 990 PRO 1TB – M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD (MZ-V9P1T0BW)

Samsung 990 PRO 1TB – M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD

The Samsung 990 PRO is one of the fastest PCIe 4.0 drives on the market – it practically uses the entire bandwidth of a Gen4 slot. Samsung's in-house controller, V-NAND TLC memory and a DRAM cache deliver fast performance both in games and during long writes. The 1 TB capacity holds the system, programs and a dozen or so games. The manufacturer's part number is MZ-V9P1T0BW.

Speed

According to the manufacturer, the 1 TB version reaches up to 7,450 MB/s sequential read and up to 6,900 MB/s sequential write.

Computer, laptop and PS5

The 990 PRO fits computers and laptops with an M.2 NVMe slot and the PS5 as a storage expansion (with a console-compatible heatsink). Samsung Magician helps you migrate the system, update firmware and check the drive's health.

Installation and cooling

Version without a heatsink. The drive has a nickel-coated controller and Dynamic Thermal Guard thermal protection, and in a desktop computer it is worth installing it under the motherboard's heatsink.
