The Garmin D2 Mach 1 Aviator is a smartwatch designed for general aviation pilots. The watch uses a global aviation database and lets you navigate directly to a chosen airport or waypoint, while the quick nearest-airport function makes decisions easier in an unusual situation. Emergency mode suggests the optimal speed and planning time in case of engine trouble, showing the route to the nearest landing site.

In-flight map and weather data

The moving aviation map displays route waypoints and NEXRAD radar data, and the weather module shows METAR, TAF and MOS forecast information, that is wind, visibility, pressure and cloud cover for selected airports. The HSI needle guides you along the planned flight route, showing the deviation to the left or right of your course.

Display and build

The watch features a 1.3-inch AMOLED display that is readable even in strong sunlight, as well as a titanium back cover and a strap combining silicone with titanium. Besides its aviation functions, the D2 Mach 1 Aviator also monitors basic health metrics, including sleep and stress level, and the battery lasts up to 11 days in smartwatch mode.
