Garmin Instinct 3 Tactical Edition 45 mm - tactical GPS watch

The Garmin Instinct 3 Tactical Edition 45 mm is a rugged GPS watch designed for tactical applications and tough field conditions. The case is made of fiber-reinforced polymer, and the bezel is additionally reinforced with metal, which increases resistance to impacts and scratches. The watch meets the MIL-STD-810 standard for thermal and shock resistance, and its water resistance reaches 10 ATM.

Tactical features

The Tactical Edition has a stealth mode that limits signal emission, a kill switch, a jumpmaster activity, waypoint projection and night vision goggle compatibility. The watch also supports a rucking activity and comes with a preloaded Applied Ballistics ballistic solver, whose full activation requires a separate purchase in the manufacturer's mobile app. In addition, it has a built-in LED flashlight with adjustable brightness and a strobe mode.

Navigation and health monitoring

The device has multi-band GPS with SatIQ technology, which automatically selects the positioning mode to reduce battery use. It also includes a 3-axis compass and a barometric altimeter. The watch monitors heart rate from the wrist, sleep and Pulse Ox; this data is approximate and does not replace medical devices.

Battery and connectivity

The solar-charging display extends battery life, and the manufacturer states up to 28 days in smartwatch mode. The watch connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth, which allows receiving notifications and syncing activities. The strap is made of silicone with a buckle fastening.
