The Garmin GMS 10 is a rugged network switch designed for expanding a Garmin marine network on vessels. The device has 8 ports and lets you connect several chartplotters, multifunction displays and sensors into one coherent data network.

Operation and installation

The switch supports data transmission at speeds of up to 100 megabits per second, which significantly speeds up the exchange of information between connected devices compared with simpler network systems. Thanks to plug and play technology, each peripheral device is recognized automatically as soon as it is connected, with no need for manual configuration.

Expanding the system

The system can be expanded easily by connecting more chartplotters and sensors to the free ports of the GMS 10 using standard Garmin network cables. The solution works well on smaller boats as well as larger vessels with extensive onboard electronics. The sturdy, waterproof housing copes well with conditions on deck, and the black color allows discreet mounting in the boat's electrical box.
