Garmin gWind Regatta – wind sensor for racing sailors
The gWind Regatta is a wind sensor designed with regatta sailing in mind. It is mounted on a simple one-meter pole above the mast, so the measurement is not disturbed by the twist of the sail, as it can be with sensors placed lower.
Twin-Fin design
The sensor uses a three-blade propeller in a Twin-Fin layout, which results in a more accurate measurement of true wind speed, also in light breezes, and a more stable wind angle reading than in classic designs.
GND10 gateway
The set includes a GND10 gateway (blackbox), which exchanges data over the NMEA 2000 network between a Nexus installation and compatible Garmin chartplotters. As a result, owners of a Garmin chartplotter can use Nexus sailing equipment, and vice versa.
