Garmin GND 10 – module connecting Nexus and NMEA 2000 networks
The GND 10 is a small module, described as a black box bridge, that acts as an intermediary between the Nexus network and the NMEA 2000 network on a boat. Thanks to it, instruments and sensors operating in the Nexus standard can send data to Garmin devices that use NMEA 2000, and vice versa.
What it is for
The module converts data between two different onboard networks. This makes it possible, for example, to use gWind wind sensors, including the wireless version and the Regatta variant, together with Garmin NMEA 2000 equipment, without having to replace the entire installation on the boat.
Installation
Connection is plug and play, using USB connectors, so the user does not have to manually configure network parameters or set device addresses.
Updates
The module's software can be updated over the NMEA 2000 network, without the need to connect an additional computer directly to the device.
