The GPSMAP 1222xsv is a large chartplotter with a 12-inch color display and a built-in sonar module. Instead of a touchscreen it has a keypad with programmable buttons and a multifunction knob – this kind of control is reliable even in waves, with gloves on or with wet hands. The model is intended for anglers, powerboaters and sailors, including professionals, who want navigation and a fishfinder on one clearly visible screen.

Full sonar in the plotter housing

The built-in module supports traditional CHIRP sonar with up to 1 kW of power, ClearVü scanning and SideVü side scanning. This lets you simultaneously track fish in the water column, view a detailed picture of the bottom under the boat and check the structure on both sides of the hull. The plotter also works with Panoptix sonars. For the sonar to work, a compatible transducer matched to the hull and mounting method is required.

Fast positioning and charts

The GPS and GLONASS receiver updates the position 10 times per second, so the boat icon moves smoothly and route guidance is precise even with frequent course changes. The plotter supports optional BlueChart g2 and BlueChart g2 Vision HD charts, installed from a memory card.

Network and connectivity

The device works with the Garmin Marine Network, which lets you connect several displays, radar or sonar modules, as well as with NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183. Built-in Wi-Fi allows connection to a smartphone or tablet.
