Garmin Varia eRTL615 – rear radar for an electric bike

The Varia eRTL615 is a rear radar and tail light designed specifically to work with a compatible electric bike. The device connects directly to the bike's electrical system, so it needs no battery of its own or separate charging between rides.

Vehicle detection and alerts

The radar, operating in the 24 GHz band, detects vehicles approaching from behind at distances of up to 140 meters. Information about an approaching car goes to a paired Edge bike computer, Garmin watch or the Varia app on a smartphone via an ANT+ or Bluetooth Low Energy connection, giving the cyclist extra time to react.

Light and mounting

The built-in tail light provides daytime visibility from up to 1.6 km and offers four lighting modes, including a steady mode and a peloton mode for group riding. The mounting kit lets you attach the device to the seat rail or to a rack, and the IP65 rated housing handles riding in the rain.
