Garmin Varia Vue StVZO – front bike light with 4K camera

The Varia Vue StVZO is a Garmin front bike light with a built-in camera, combining lighting with route recording in 4K quality. The model meets the German StVZO standard, so it can be mounted on bikes used in line with road regulations there. The device attaches to the handlebar and is powered by a built-in battery.

Visibility and safety

The light has an anti-glare beam that limits dazzling drivers and other cyclists, while still keeping the rider well visible. Once paired with a compatible Garmin Edge bike computer, the brightness adjusts automatically to your riding speed and lighting conditions, which saves battery power while keeping good visibility at dusk and at night.

Camera and incident recording

The built-in 4K camera records the surroundings and requires its own memory card, which is not included in the set. When a sudden incident on the road is detected, the device automatically saves a segment of the recording so that it is not overwritten by subsequent files. A microphone is included for recording ambient sound with the footage. Videos and camera settings are managed in the Varia app on your phone, where you can also add overlays with ride data. Automatic upload and saving of recordings over Wi-Fi requires a separate Garmin Vault subscription.

Power and mounting

The battery lasts several hours of riding in daytime mode with video recording on at the same time, and the light can also be used while charging. The housing is waterproof, and the handlebar mount lets you quickly remove or attach the light.
