SHIMANO CN-M6100 12-speed bicycle chain

The SHIMANO CN-M6100 bicycle chain is a drivetrain part for bikes with 12-speed cassettes, intended as a chain for a mountain or trekking bike. It is suitable for replacing a worn chain and for regular maintenance of a mountain or trekking bike.

Use

The chain has 126 links and comes with a QuickLink connector (the QuickLink connector lets you close the chain without tools), so it can be cut to the required length and closed without special rivets. It is made of steel, and its job is to transfer drive from the crank to the rear wheel with smooth gear shifting.

Why replace the chain

  • a stretched chain speeds up wear of the cassette and chainrings,
  • a new chain improves shifting precision,
  • the connector makes later removal for cleaning easier.
