Silkwish – soft start module for power tools

The inrush current limiter module is installed inside the housing of a power tool with a brushed motor to soften its start-up. Instead of a sudden current spike at startup, the motor spins up smoothly and with a slight delay, which reduces stress on the mechanism and extends its life.

How it works

The circuit reduces the inrush current and ensures a smooth tool start, limiting jerks when the motor starts. The maximum operating parameters are 15 A at 220–250 V, which allows it to be used in typical workshop power tools powered from the mains.
