Garmin Reactor 40 Compact – autopilot control unit (CCU)
The brain of the autopilot system
The Compact Reactor 40 CCU is the central control unit of the Garmin Reactor 40 autopilot system, containing the sensors used to determine the boat's heading and rate of turn. This module processes the data from the sensors and controls the autopilot actuator, keeping the boat on the set course.
Integration with the NMEA 2000 network
The unit connects to the NMEA 2000 network, so it communicates with the GHC 20 controller and other devices compliant with this standard, such as Garmin chartplotters. As a result, heading and autopilot data are available on the boat's shared bus, without the need to run separate cabling to each display.
Use
The Reactor 40 Compact CCU is intended for smaller and mid-size motor and sailing boats where compact placement of the autopilot electronics matters. The module itself does not directly control the engine – it requires connecting an actuator and a controller compatible with the Reactor 40 system.
