Garmin VHF 215 AIS – marine VHF radio with AIS and built-in GPS

Garmin VHF 215 AIS – marine VHF radio with AIS receiver and GPS

The VHF 215 AIS is a fixed-mount marine radio designed for installation on a boat. Besides standard voice communication, it receives AIS signals from other vessels and shows them on a compatible Garmin chartplotter. This makes it easier to assess traffic on the water and avoid collisions with other vessels.

Communication and safety

The radio supports Class D digital selective calling (DSC), which allows you to send a distress signal together with the MMSI number programmed by the user. Transmit power is 25 W, and the built-in GPS receiver lets you pass on the vessel's exact position in an emergency.

Channels and integration

The unit covers all Canadian and international marine channels as well as 10 NOAA weather channels. It connects to an NMEA 2000 network (plug-and-play) and to older NMEA 0183 installations, and it also supports a second station in the form of a GHS 11 handset and a built-in two-way intercom for communication between different parts of the boat.
