Beekeeping wire for wiring frames – 500 g spool
Wire designed for wiring hive frames, used to hold the wax foundation in place while bees build new combs. It is a basic consumable in every apiary, used when renewing and preparing frames for the next season.
Use
The wire is strung in the frame before the foundation sheet is placed in it, which stiffens the comb structure and lets the bees build the cells faster and more evenly. As a result, the comb is more stable during hive handling, inspections and honey extraction.
Material
The spool contains stainless steel or iron wire with a diameter of about 0.5 mm, chosen to provide adequate mechanical strength while not hindering the bees' natural comb building.
Contents
The package contains one spool weighing 500 g, which at typical use is enough to wire many frames in a season.
