Great Opera Overtures – opera overtures, 2CD, Halidon

Great Opera Overtures – opera overtures on two CDs

Great Opera Overtures is a two-disc compilation of overtures from the most famous operas, released by the Italian label Halidon. An overture opens an opera performance and foreshadows its mood and main musical themes, which is why many of them have gained a life of their own on concert stages.

About the release

Sets of this kind usually contain works by opera masters such as Rossini, Verdi, Mozart or Wagner, performed by symphony orchestras. Overtures are a great way to get to know the most beautiful operatic melodies without listening to whole works, while enjoying the full sound of the orchestra.

Who it is for

The discs will appeal to lovers of opera and operetta, people beginning their adventure with classical music and everyone who likes energetic, melodic orchestral pieces.

Physical edition

A physical edition with the original cover and printed materials is a keepsake that streaming cannot replace, and at the same time a guarantee that your favorite recordings will stay in your home collection for years. The disc is best stored in its case, away from sunlight and heat sources, and before buying you should make sure your player supports the format.
