Sony XLR-A4 digital XLR audio adapter, 4 channels, 32-bit float, for

Sony XLR-A4 – professional audio on an Alpha camera

Four channels and 32-bit recording

The XLR-A4 is a digital audio adapter that mounts on the Multi Interface shoe of Sony cameras. It lets you connect professional microphones with XLR plugs and record up to four audio channels simultaneously. 32-bit float recording at a 96 kHz sampling rate protects the recording from clipping, so both a whisper and a loud shout are captured without manually watching levels.

Key features

• XLR inputs for microphones and line sources
• up to 4 audio channels at the same time
• 32-bit float, 96 kHz
• digital audio transfer through the MI shoe, with no extra cables
• knobs and level switches for each channel

For filmmakers

The adapter is useful for interviews, wedding reportage and video productions where clean sound from several microphones matters. It was designed for new-generation Alpha cameras that support digital audio through the MI shoe.
