Garmin Airmar B75H – fishfinder transducer

The Airmar B75H is a depth and temperature transducer (sensor) designed to work with Garmin fishfinders and chartplotters equipped with an 8-pin connector. The element is permanently mounted in the boat's hull (hull-mount, thru-hull), so it provides a stable signal regardless of speed and conditions on the water.

Depth and temperature measurement

The transducer operates in a wide Chirp frequency band of 130-210 kHz, which gives a clearer picture of the bottom and better discrimination of objects underwater compared with classic single-frequency sensors. In addition to depth, it also measures water temperature, and the reading goes directly to the screen of a compatible Garmin fishfinder.

Hull mounting

The housing is made of bronze, a material resistant to corrosion and typically used in thru-hull transducers permanently mounted in the bottom of a boat. This kind of installation requires drilling a hole in the hull, so it is best suited to larger, permanent installations on motor and sailing vessels.
